brewing Join Glenn Knoblock at the Tuck Museum in Hampton on Thursday, November 3, at 7 p.m., as he explores the history of New Hampshire's beer and ale brewing industry from Colonial days to the present. As a special treat, the Hampton Historical Society will offer samples of microbrewed beer.

Knoblock will discuss New Hampshire's brewing industry from Colonial days, when it was home- and tavern-based, to today's modern breweries and brew pubs. Unusual and rare photos and advertisements document this changing industry and the state's earliest brewers. Knoblock will also discuss the only brewery owned and operated by a woman before the modern era.

Knoblock is an independent scholar and author of 15 books and more than 100 articles. He is also the author and historian on projects relating to Northern New England bridges, New Hampshire cemeteries and brewing history, and African-American military history.

NHHC The Hampton Historical Society, together with New Hampshire Humanities, is sponsoring the program, which is free to the public. The Tuck Museum is at 40 Park Ave, Hampton. For more information, call 603-929-0781.
