Elly Becotte, HHS volunteer and Civil War expert, completed her second book,
Answering the Call: Hampton, New Hampshire in the American Civil War, 1861-1865 in 2013. To launch the book and to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, HHS held a "Civil War Saturday" event in April. It featured Civil War reenactors, exhibits, a quilt raffle (the quilt was hand-made by Katrin Grant, Elly's daughter), and a traditional Civil War supper with pork & beans, corn bread, & dessert.
